STURGEON BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Police in Sturgeon Bay say they have identified the body found Thursday morning in the water between the Michigan Street Bridge and the Door County Maritime Museum.
According to a release from the Sturgeon Bay Police Department, the body found in the water on the morning of June 5 has been identified as 23-year-old Aleksander Hill from Sturgeon Bay.
Video evidence reportedly saw Hill enter the water at 11:30 pm. on June 4, with his body being found in the water around 11:20 the next morning.
Officials say the preliminary findings from the autopsy do not suggest there was any foul play involved in the incident.
The Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office is expected to make a final determination on the cause of Hill’s death following the completion of an investigation carried out by police.
Anyone who was in the area of the Michigan Street Bridge or the Door County Maritime Museum from the time Hill entered the water to the time his body was found is asked to contact the Sturgeon Bay Police Department.
