MARINETTE, Wis. (WFRV) – An armed man in Marinette is in custody following a domestic violence situation in which officials say he tried using his vehicle to run his spouse off the road.
According to a release from the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded on Sunday to a domestic violence situation where a 28-year-old allegedly tried to run his spouse off the road.

Attempts to make contact with the man were said to have negative results as deputies soon received reliable information that the suspect may be armed with a rifle and was “wanting to get in a shootout with police.”
Due to the seriousness and escalating nature of the situation, the Marinette Joint Special Response Team, Crisis Negotiation Team, and Drone Team were all called to the scene to assist.
The 28-year-old was then arrested without any further incident, with the following charges being referred to the Marinette County District Attorney’s Office:
- Disorderly Conduct DVO
- 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety (Felony)
- Intimidation of a Victim (Felony)
- Going Armed While Intoxicated

Authorities say there was no time when the public was in any danger, and the situation is considered resolved.
